Hume Weir
After leaving Portland, we headed north east to Cohuna. It was hot whilst we were there with the temperature in the 40° vicinity. Now I remember why I usually stay away from this area at this time of the year.
Next port of call is Albury. We met up with David and he gave us directions to the Lake Hume Tourist Park.
He met us early the next morning to fit the Solar System.
It was in the 40° temperature range there also. I am so grateful for the air conditioner.
On the day that we arrived, we rested up during the heat of the afternoon and then went to investigate the Hume Weir.

It is an awesome structure. We took some photos and we managed to be there in time to see the lights come on at dusk. A very pretty site. The surrounding park area is a lovely spot for a picnic/barbeque if you are in the area.
We left for home as soon as David had finished his work. Stopping off at Wangaratta McDonald’s, for a salad lunch on the way, where it was over 40° too. It was like stepping into a furnace when we got out of the air-conditioned car.
It was so good to get home and see Comet (our pet blue heeler). We missed him.
